New in basics: Tote bag

Say hello to my new acquisition. It is a basic everyday tote bag and it comes to replace my previous one which was close to disintegration and wasn't quite fit to go out in public with anymore. (With this occasion I should probably say some nice words about the old bag, however things are not that sad :D and it won't go to trash yet: it will be probably re-purposed for grocery shopping. I being a hoarder get too attached to the things I own and couldn't throw it away just yet :"> )

About the new bag though. I have been searching for a replacement to my old bag for quite a while and couldn't find the specific one I had in my head. Apart from it's design I needed a rather big bag in a versatile colour and not very expensive because, well, it's an everyday bag. I think everyone of us has that comfortable big bag we use whenever we need to run errands, go shopping, carry lots of stuff  etc. (I am against any type of additional bags/items carried with myself because too many times they were forgotten and lost somewhere. Because amnesia and day-dreaming :">). I found this one in a local store, it is manufactured here in my country and it ticked almost all my boxes: double handles, so one can carry it in hand or on the shoulder/across the body; it is made out of a leather-like material (yay to cruelty-free products!); the colour and shape makes it a perfect match for a wide range of outfits and styles. I have paid for it half the price of a genuine leather bag (compared to another local brand) and my only concern is how long it will serve me, but we'll see :-B

MET Gala 2015 Favourites: China through the looking glass

I sincerely believe that taste is a very subjective matter thus I don't really rely on all those Best & Worst Dressed lists. Consequently, I will try to avoid expressing my dissaproval to some of the outfits worn at the famous gala. Let just say they were almost naked but not necesarilly :) (not that I am a prude but I do believe in the concepts of "lady" and "polished" and "classy", moreover when one serves as an example and, frankly, has resources for better clothes). Instead I'd better show my absolutely favourite girls who wore the most beautiful outfits.

Usually, when an event happens I like to check as many sources as possible in order to get a broader coverage of stars who attented it, because events are not only about Beyonce or Jennifer Lawrence but also about less popular stars with sometimes better taste (or stylists ;) ) The awards season is generally a little celebration for me because I do love to see all those ladies (and gents) gracing the red carpet in nice outfits. My most favourite internet place to check out photo reports is Vogue UK (shout out to their website with gorgeus big pictures and an easy-to-use interface).

So here is my personal choice for the best dressed ladies at the 2015 MET Gala:

Maggie Q in Tory Burch

Helen Mirren in Dolce & Gabbana

Diane Kruger in Chanel

And what were your favourites? :)

First outfit post attempt

There's been a looooooooong (you got it, very long) time since I've been gathering myself up to post a more or less decent outfit post, but there was always something that seemed to get in my way, lack of time mainly. That is why I am posting this entry from my mobile phone, because if I won't do it here and now, i'll never do it (also because I am irresponsible when it comes to my hobbies and because, generally, I have to many hobbies).

Why you souldn't always throw things away

This past summer I had the "great" inspiration to buy not one but two (!) sets of stack rings from H&M. One set in golden and one in silver. Yeah. I got inspired by multiple bloggers and I still find them looking very pretty, but......not on my fingers :-< See the proof below:

A Post of many Words :)

This blog was created a long time ago, so long I am actually afraid to look back. It was and still is planned as the place where I could post my ramblings, experiments, ideas, findings in order to help find, improve, express myself. So far it only gives me headache and remorse :) because I still want it to happen but can't find that sweet middle spot between being a full-time working girl and running a blog.

Plans onward

The Leopard Embellished Dress - www.romwe.com
This is intended as a motivational post :D I shall look at these dresses and remember how much I crave them, and this, hypothetically, should motivate me to sew them :D There is also a dress I envision as a black leather top and tweed dark-orange skirt (no pics just my imagination). Seems like a plan :D

The "Jackie O" dress - www.blackhalo.com

Asymmetric dress - www.dixistore.com (a local manufacturer & retailer)

Officially hooked on

This is not the usual music I listen, but this piece is just brilliant.

It has lyrics.

And the lyrics have meaning.

Anne Hathaway at Golden Globe Awards 2013

I can drool over this woman infinitely because she is perfection both as a beautiful woman and talented actress. I haven't seen yet "Les Miserables" (which I dreadfully regret) and the fact that Anne got the award for the best supporting actress makes me tingle with impatience too see it. All the more sure she was awesome there :)

New Year resolution

Ho ho...second post in one day, unvelievable :D However, it's a New Year resolution and it ought to be posted on the first day of the year. So here it goes.

This year I need too:

  • be creative. Be much more creative. Leave aside calculations and use my right  hemisphere of the brain as well. Sew more, DIY more, make more photos, think more in terms of creativity, rather than in terms of calculus and reasoning. Yep.
  • read more.  I really suck at reading lately. Fall asleep after reading a couple of pages. Too tired or maybe it is a book choice? Mental note: pick some more interesting/dynamic books to read.
  • travel. I never did travel for pleasure before. For the sake of sightseeing, going wherever I want to go, looking at people, making pictures. This year seems like a good one to start :)
  • blog better Goddamit :D
  • and perhaps praise myself more. I might deserve it ;;)

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year everyone!
May this year bring you balance between happines & wealth, adventures & cozy family evenings, love & work and the only excess that is acceptable - lots and lots of health!

P.S. No cat pictures for this year. He was VERY reluctant :D

Christmas Kitteh :)

It is not too often I can catch nice shots of my cat as he never stays in one place when I am hunting him. Therefore, I could not NOT post some precious shots of him I managed to do :)

Emma Watson vs. Kristen Stewart

These two actresses have always been compared and even I fall sometimes into temptation to put them side by side, despite my admiration for Emma clearly prevailing. However this time I wonder if Kristen/Kristen's stylists had deliberately chosen this dress for the last Twilight premiere [don't ask, no idea how the last movie is called :D]. Her dress is almost similar to the dress Emma wore last year at a similar event - the premiere of the last Harry Potter movie.

Coral, gold & statement

The truth is that among all the daily calculations and straightfoward excel formulas my brain rebels and requires other kinds of food......when this happens I like to create :) Unfortunately the boring life of a working-class girl do not offer to much time for hobby-pursuing, thus not so much happening on this blog. However, now I have something to share and it hapens to be a dress I made for a new event I went (my cousin's wedding).

Forever a Cat

Attacked a yard sale today. And not even sorry :) Lots of things were bought and most of them are cat-related. Hmmm.....I wonder why :D All the thingies are supposedly handmade and very cute ^_^

Having troubles keeping commitments

Recently I came to discover that my abilities for time management and therefore keeping commitments are.....not so good......to put it in simplier words........I suck at doing things in time.....at doing things at all, in general. Take the blog for example. Suck at updating it, suck at keeping track of my ideas, leaving everything for "the next time". Have a shitload of "drafted", unfinished posts. And this applies to a lot of aspects of my life. Why? Lack of concentration probably? My mind flying from one thing to another, from one hobby to another. And you know what? Doing things that you like at that particular moment has to have a limit, because in the end you come to want to do nothing. Not because you're lazy, but because you just get lost among all the stuff you "would like to do". But, as I said, there has to be a limit, there has to be some degree of commitment and compulsory regarding everything wanted and needed to do. And also as I relize now, this should be induced in childhood, because a it's rather freaking difficult to change an already formed personality.

Hmmm...this is not a depressive post, just a constatation of a fact and a realization that I have to change things. After all I am no Scarlett O'Hara to think about it tomorrow :) Need to gather, note and organize thoughts. And to prove that I already started working on myself, I write this post at mid-night. That's how commited I am :D (I think a psychologist would say I'm on the right track since I acknowledge this issue of mine :D)

On another note, discovered some really nice blogs of girls from my own country. Very inspiring. Like very. Girls with their own history, speaking their own minds. Also, very modest and "neutral". "Neutral" meaning not making aggresive attacks to whether our country's situation or people per se or people as professionals. They don't give a damn about the world not spinning precisely as they want. They just live their life.....and keep a blog. And thanks for that :D

The Pierces - Love you more

Long time no post....as always :D

New job figured out to be quite time-consuming, still, apparently, I am progressing and I am happy with this. Working too much is actually cool if you enjoy it ;)

Just a quick post with a new song I discovered yesterday and, as always, can't stop listening. I am so glad there are still things I can discover and really and intensely enjoy.

Also, lots of news but everything in its own good time (meaning I am too lazy) :)

Smart casualty

Let's stop for a moment and applaude this amazing style.
A pair of jeans.
A white t-shirt.
A black blazer.
Yet...

...so volatile, Goddammit! You can wear a pair of heels and look chic and ready to go to office. Or, you can pick some flat shoes for a relaxed casual outfit. Add a bright lip gloss / lip stick, or a bright (red, green, blue, orange) accesory (scraf, headband, bag, belt etc.) and you most surely will pop out in the crowd ;)
Can't wait for the spring to try them both ^_^

With heels
With flats
